Real Bride, Blaine, in Hayley Paige

11.01.18

Here for the Hayley Paige

Blaine always told herself she would not wear a white wedding gown. Since Hayley Paige offers a wide array of gowns in colors other than white, she knew she’d found her dream designer! When asked what led her to StarDust, Blaine said “I decided to shop at StarDust because it was one of the only wedding dress stores that sold Hayley Paige dresses, and I had been telling myself since I first got engaged that I WILL have a Hayley Paige wedding dress!” This gorgeous bride even wore  a Hayley Paige athleisurewear robe to get ready for her big day!

The One

She knew Chandon was her gown when she first saw it on Hayley’s Instagram- the day after she got engaged! Immediately, she began the hunt for her gown. Once she made it to StarDust, it was the very first gown she tried on. She was sold! “When I put it on, I immediately starting crying and smiling” said Blaine. “Marianne was my stylist on that wonderful day and she was everything I could’ve imagined in a stylist for the day I picked my wedding dress. She did nothing but make me feel like a queen. She focused only on how I felt, no one else! I loved that about her! She made me feel so beautiful and kept telling me how my dress was made for me!”

Rose Gold Vibes

Her inspiration for her wedding was her love for rose gold, burgundy, geometric terrariums, and succulents! Her engagement ring is Rose Gold, so she made it a priority to include rose gold in many aspects of her big day. As you can see, she nailed it!

2018 Trends for Bridesmaids to Consider As You Plan Your Fall Weddings

05.28.18

Time to listen up, bridesmaids! Your lineup of fall weddings will be here before you can say “congratulations” to the grooms and “best wishes” to the brides. That’s why it’s best to start now on ordering romantic bridesmaid dresses to wear to all these special occasions.

It will take between 6 and 12 weeks (in the best-case scenario) to order bridesmaid dresses. You can pick out gowns and order them in store at StarDust, and the order will be placed when everyone has sent in their individual measurements and gown payments. Best to get started today!

For ideas on planning out your gowns, we’ve put together the top 3 trends for bridesmaid dresses that’ll have you looking fine this fall.

Trend #1: Bring On the Glam With Fall Jewel Tones

Pastels are sweet but we are thrilled to see sexy shades of ruby, sapphire and emerald on our racks. Jeweled gowns are a major trend for bridesmaid dresses in the 2018 wedding season. What’s not to love? These rich, vibrant shades have all the sophistication and glamour of a black gown but the pop of color leaves a lasting impression. Not to mention, they look flawless on nearly all skin tones.

Jewel tones are such a classic, they are sure to stay on the top of trend lists for seasons to come. Not only will you be in style for your fall weddings, but this will be a gown to wear for many future elegant evenings. Win-win!

Trend #2: Strike a Pose in Lush Velvet Textures

For fall weddings, velvet can add a touch of drama to the overall wedding party look. Last seen on the runways in the 1990’s, velvet is definitely staging a comeback in the wedding industry this year (and next year!). Velvet textures can be a fun alternative to lighter fabrics like chiffon, and they are easy to mix and match for a luxurious touch that you won’t be able to keep your hands off of.

Trend #3: Look Sexy in an Off-the-Shoulder Dress

An off-the-shoulder dress is a classic choice for bridesmaids. You can’t go wrong! The trend this year is a playful “cold shoulder”. Long sleeves reveal some skin while keeping it modest and chic. This is such a fabulously practical trend for the cooler fall months!

In 2019, bridesmaid dresses with sleeves will continue to be popular with delicate details like the tied shoulder, flouncy cap sleeves or voluminous bell sleeves. If you’re going to be outdoors in nice weather, then you can opt for this flirty look at the ceremony. Girl, show off those pretty shoulders!

At StarDust, you can order gowns as a group in store with the other bridesmaids in your wedding party. If your group has four or more women, you can receive a discount, upon request—remember to ask when you go in! Usually, you’ll receive a better price when all of the gowns are ordered from the same salon (both online and in store). If you live in a different town than the other bridesmaids, you can always order your dress online here.

Thoroughly Modern Meghan

05.21.18

Millions of people around the world tuned in this weekend to get a glimpse of the gown that American actress, Meghan Markle would wear as she walked down the aisle of St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle to wed her prince. She shined in a design by the acclaimed British designer, Clare Waight Keller, the first female Artistic Director at the historic French fashion house Givenchy.

The gown made an impact in its simplicity, timeless silhouette and classic details meant to add “refined modernity.” “True to the heritage of the house, the pure lines of the dress are achieved using six meticulously placed seams,” the Palace shared in its official release. “The focus of the dress is the graphic open bateau neckline that gracefully frames the shoulders and emphasizes the slender sculpted waist. The lines of the dress extend towards the back where the train flows in soft round folds cushioned by an underskirt in triple silk organza.”

No details were overlooked in her extravagant 16-foot veil embroidered with 53 flowers representing each of the British Commonwealth countries along the trim. “The Commonwealth family of nations – of which Her Majesty The Queen is Head – will be a central part of Prince Harry’s and Ms. Markle’s official work following  His Royal Highness’s appointment as Commonwealth Youth Ambassador,” the Palace said in a statement. “Ms. Markle wanted to express her gratitude for the opportunity to support the work of the Commonwealth by incorporating references to its members into the design of her wedding dress.”
