Embellishment:
Pearls, crystals, beading, oh my! Designers are encrusting bodices, lace or even an entire gown from head to toe to make sure a bride shines in a whole new way on her special day. Sparkle your way to the altar in a few of these favorite frocks!
Plunging Necklines:
Dare to be different or even a little risque on your day! Dramatic, deep necklines are all the rage on the bridal runway with sheer illusion plunging to the naval. Some designers are providing a little bit of modesty with lace applique or embellishment and some seem to be encouraging the “bare all” approach.
Sleeves:
Whether you are channeling your inner retro vibe with a trendy bell sleeve, attempting for a little more coverage with a fitted 3/4 sleeve or want to embody all that is Jackie O classic beauty, the bridal gods did not disappoint. We are so in love with this trend that we can’t decide which is our favorite!
Unique Backs:
Open backs, low backs, strappy backs, illusion and lace backs, jewel-encrusted backs…designers are finding every which way to provide the most amount of interest as you stand at the altar. The dramatic back craze is a trend that has surfaced the last few seasons and is developing into a fashion staple we do not see turning to a fad any time soon!
Feathers and Tiers:
From one end of the spectrum to the other, we are seeing the re-emergence of feathered frocks for the trend-setting bride and the fun and flirty, tiered skirt for the fashion-forward. Designers have adorned gowns with threaded plumes to add dimension and fluff to a skirt and are adding billowing layers of sumptuous fabrications to create tiers from waist to finish. Either way, you cannot go wrong donning these new trends!
High Neckline:
Opposite the plunging neckline, Queen Anne collars, halters and high neck chokers are the newest fashion for your bridal style. Sometimes accompanied by a bridal cape or a flutter sleeve, this new style captures the essence of modern chic and vintage, all-in-one!
Dimensional Florals and Lace:
Gone are the days of the quintessential corded, two dimensional lace. While we do still love this classic look, designers are utilizing various fabrications to embellish and enhance lace to new levels and heights – literally! Whether using an architectural or modern patterned lace or utilizing a classic Alencon, designers are garnishing these fabrications to provide top-notch, unprecedented texture!
