Ringing in The New Year- Festive Cocktails

12.31.19

Celebrate!

One of the many reasons we love weddings- the celebration! We love a great party, and having festive drinks can make any party better! We’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite festive cocktails so you can ring in 2020 with the perfect drink in hand!

Confetti Champagne

INGREDIENTS

1 lime wedge
1/3 c. assorted Pop Rocks
6 oz. vanilla vodka
1 bottle Champagne (or Prosecco)
1 (20 oz.) bottle Sprite

DIRECTIONS

1.Place all pop rocks on a small shallow plate and mix together with a fork. Wet the rim of each glass with lime wedge, then dip in pop rocks. Repeat until all rims are coated.
2.Add an ounce of vanilla vodka to each glass. Divide champagne evenly between glasses, then top with Sprite. Serve chilled.

Love the look, but want to keep it kid friendly? Skip the vodka and use sparkling white grape juice in lieu of the champs!

Peppermint Bark Mimosas

INGREDIENTS

1/4 c. semisweet chocolate chips, melted
3 candy canes, crushed
6 oz. peppermint schnapps, divided
1 bottle champagne or prosecco
6 candy canes, whole

DIRECTIONS

  1. Pour melted chocolate onto a small plate. Pour crushed candy canes onto a separate plate. Dip rims of champagne flutes first in chocolate, then in crushed candy canes to coat.
  2. Add an ounce of peppermint schnapps to each glass, then top with champagne or prosecco. Garnish with full candy canes before serving.

To make this recipe more family friendly you can skip the schnapps and champagne and use sprite with a dash of peppermint syrup! This is the perfect recipe to use up all those leftover candy canes and peppermint bark you may have found in your stocking!

  2. Run a lemon wedge around the rim of each glass then dip in sanding sugar.
  3. Pour frosties into rimmed glasses and serve immediately.

You can use blue raspberry lemonade instead of traditional lemonade, and drop the alcohol to create a regular Jack Frostie!

Sugar Cookie Martinis

INGREDIENTS

FOR THE MARTINI

1/2 c. whole milk
1/4 c. Baileys
2 oz. vanilla vodka
2 oz. amaretto

Ice

FOR THE RIM

1/2 c. vanilla frosting
1/4 c. sprinkles, plus 1 tsp., divided

Pre-made sugar cookie dough

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll sugar cookie dough out to ¼” thick. Using a cookie cutter, cut out desired shapes then place cookies on prepared baking sheet. Bake until just set and lightly golden around the edges, 12 minutes. Let cool.
  2. Using an offset spatula, spread a thin layer of frosting onto rim of two martini glasses. Pour ¼ cup sprinkles onto a small plate then dip rims in sprinkles to coat. Use an offset to frost cookies with frosting then decorate with the remaining 2 tablespoons sprinkles.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, combine milk, Baileys, vodka, and amaretto. Add ice and shake until cold. Pour into glasses and garnish rim with a cookie.

This is our easiest amended recipe- turn this into a milk and cookies feast for the kids! You can even dip the rims to keep it fun!

Mimosa Floats

INGREDIENTS

1/4 c. melted white chocolate
rainbow sprinkles
1 750-mL bottle of Champagne (or Prosecco)
1 qt. Rainbow sherbet

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a small dish, pour melted white chocolate. In another small dish, pour rainbow sprinkles. Dip champagne glass rims in melted white chocolate, then in sprinkles.
  2. Add 1 to 2 scoops of sherbet to each champagne flute. Top with champagne and serve immediately.

Skip the champagne and use 7-up instead, for an alcohol-free treat!

As you can tell, we love a fun festive beverage! However, you can’t go wrong with the traditional champagne toast ring in 2020!

Happy New Year from the StarDust Celebrations family!
