A Dreamy Mountain Wedding in Colorado

12.10.21

,

What’s more beautiful than being surrounded by the world’s best views as you say I do to the love of your life?… Breauna and Nick did just that for their wedding day! Read along as Breauna shares all about her incredible wedding experience and the details that made it a wonderous celebration with family and friends.

Nick’s Proposal

My husband, Nick, proposed to me at the Texas state-line when we were moving from Indiana back home to Texas. We had decided just two months before that we weren’t super happy there and Texas has always been attractive to us because it’s cheaper, we were sick of the snow, and his family is here! He didn’t even have a job offer until just two weeks before we moved which we were beyond thankful for because we did not have a backup plan! When I had asked him why he chose to propose at that time, he said it seemed like the perfect way to start our new and exciting chapter.

My dream dress – Style 1583 by Eve of Milady

When I saw the dress on the rack and all the gorgeous beading, I knew I had to try it on. The sample size looked like it was too small, so I almost didn’t pull it. I am so happy I went with my gut and insisted on trying because it was perfect! It was so visually perfect that I temporarily forgot that price tags were important to look at before falling in love with something! The dress was over budget, so I took it off and kept trying dresses on. No other gown felt as high quality or beautiful and no other gown made me feel the way that one did. I decided to put it back on and try it with a veil and immediately knew that it was the one!

Wedding Dress Shopping at StarDust Celebrations

I brought my mom, my mother-in-law, and my little sister, and when I walked into StarDust, I was in awe at how big it was. I felt confident that I’d be able to find my dress there. When we went upstairs to start picking out which gown I wanted, I was just overwhelmed with excitement at the fact that this day was actually happening. I wasn’t one of those little girls who had dreamed about my wedding dress or what my wedding day would look like and so the excitement didn’t really hit me until I tried on my first gown. I was pretty nervous about someone helping me put on and take off the dresses, but we just talked like we were at coffee, and I felt so comfortable and welcomed. I had the most fun when I got to throw the confetti, though, LOL!

Glam Wedding Aesthetic

We got married in the mountains, but I didn’t want it to have a country-themed type of feel. I wanted glam, fun, excitement and I didn’t want people to feel like they were at someone’s house (it was held at a family member’s residence) I wanted it to feel like a wedding venue! I think we, both of our families/friends, and wedding party did an amazing job setting the day up exactly how I had pictured it.

Those Special Moments

Getting to have *most but not all* of some of the most special and important people of our lives all in the same place, on one of the happiest days of Nick and I’s lives was just the coolest, most unimaginable feeling in the world. We both have friends and family in multiple different states across the country, so that was so special to the both of us.

My Must-Haves

There are two things that we did for our wedding that I would recommend to every couple. The first, absolutely get a photo booth. Those photos are some of the funniest/goofiest pictures we have with some of our friends and family, and I am so happy that we decided to get one. The second, GET A BALLOON ARCH! I didn’t get a chance to see it before we went down to the reception space and the excitement I felt when I saw that balloon arch was indescribable. We have the reception in a large metal barn and our balloon arch was a 20 x 20 custom arch mixed with gold, blush, and white tones. It was honestly one of my favorite parts of the décor that we had!

Q & A with Real Bride Whitney

09.27.21

Q: How did your husband propose?
A:  My husband told me to get dressed up. We would be going out to dinner for our 5th year dating anniversary. We went to one of my favorite hotels in Dallas, Crescent Hotel (where we spent our wedding night). He proposed in the garden and had one of my friends take our pictures. It was beautiful and so thought out. It was even more special because we got to take a picture where he proposed in our wedding attire when we checked in!

Q: How did you know your Paloma Blanca #4889 was the one?
A: I knew my dress was the one because I looked over at my mom, dad, and sister tearing up. Marianne helped me envisioned what it would look like after a couple of adjustments. I could picture my husband’s face when I had it on, and I just knew it was perfect. It was everything I described and so much more.

Q: What was your dress shopping experience like at StarDust Celebrations?
A: My sister shopped for her dress at Stardust in 2012 when she was planning her wedding (ended up getting her dress at Lulu’s). I knew I wanted to start there because of the large selection of styles. It was the first and only place I shopped because I fell in love with the 4th dress I tried on! (Thank you, Marianne!)

Q: What was the aesthetic of your wedding day?
A: My wedding was very classic, elegant, and timeless. It turned out absolutely like a dream. I wish I could relive that day, so I could see everything all done again. My vision came to life, and it was all because of our amazing parents and vendors!

Q: What was the most special part of your big day?
A: Seeing his face as I walked down the aisle. I can’t describe the feeling I had when I got to see him for the first time that day. He looked so handsome, and the moment was surreal.

Q: How did you personalize your wedding gown?

A: Marianne named my dress the “Whitney” Dress because of the tweaks I made to it. I didn’t make a lot of changes, just to the neckline in the front. I added a French silk belt and a different beaded belt that came with the dress (it wasn’t enough bling for me). It was such a simple dress, and adding my touches to it made it so cool. It was so pretty and matched the vibe of the wedding perfectly. – also, my husband loved it!

Real Bride Sarah & Ron’s Fandom Wedding

04.29.21

Yes, these are unprecedented times! Sarah and Ron’s wedding had to be pushed back a couple of months before tying the knot. With everything going on, it was nearly impossible to keep the focus on their wedding. However, they managed to not only have a beautiful wedding but showcase their personalities as well! Read along to find out Sarah’s dream dress and wedding details that made it so special!

Tell us about your proposal…

We vacationed in Edinburgh, Scotland, and it was three days after the anniversary of our first date. Ron asked me to put on a nice dress because we were going to a nice dinner to celebrate our anniversary. However, he did not tell me was that we were going to take a detour through a park that Edinburgh Castle overlooks. I thought Ron was crazy because of the rain, but we got an umbrella from a souvenir shop, and it the location turned out to be gorgeous. He brought me to a stunningly ornate fountain, with the castle in the background, and there was a woman nearby taking photographs. He asked the woman if she would mind taking our photo, and she agreed. Ron handed her his phone and then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him in the rain. The woman quickly whipped out her professional camera and took pictorial evidence that the fairytale proposal was real. I obviously said “Yes!” right away!

What Made Your Dress the One?

Growing up my dream dress was the one that my grandmother wore on her wedding day. It had long sleeves, a full skirt and was stunning in its simplicity. It reminded me of a dress that Audrey Hepburn would wear, and I have always loved the classic and minimalistic style of the 50s and 60s. Unfortunately, the dress was preserved incorrectly, so it was not an option. When I saw my dress at StarDust Celebrations (it was the first one that Marianne showed me), I immediately knew that it was the modern version of my grandmother’s dress! It had the beauty of simplicity, with a modern and sexy twist! As cliché as it sounds, I felt like a princess from the moment I walked out of the dressing room and saw myself in the mirror.  It also helped that it made my mother cry every time I tried it on.

What was your dress shopping experience like at StarDust Celebrations?

Fantastic does not even begin to describe my experience shopping for dresses at StarDust Celebrations. Marianne pretty much took one look at me, asked a few questions, and immediately knew what dress I would love and look fabulous wearing. She was my real-life fairy godmother. She made me feel taken care of, very special, and made the process a breeze! I was afraid I would spend months looking for my dress, and within minutes of our appointment, Marianne found the perfect dress for me! Also, the alterations staff were amazing, detailed, and gifted at their craft.

What was your theme on your wedding day?

Our theme was “Nerdy Romantic!” Ron and I are huge self-proclaimed nerds, and we spent our first date talking about all our different fandoms, trading The Simpsons quotes, and ranking Harry Potter books and the Star Wars movies. We knew our wedding had to reflect us while still holding on to the classical romance of the day, of course.

What was special about your big day?

I have two answers to this! The first is finally getting to say, “I do!” Our wedding got postponed for two months due to the pandemic, and we were just so excited to finally get married. My other answer is the first look Ron, and I did. It was so nice to have a private moment together before the ceremony, spend a few minutes chatting, and seeing each other with barely anyone there since the rest of the day was a whirlwind. I also love the stunned look on his face when he saw me in my dress for the first time!

What personalized details went into your wedding?

We personalized our wedding by adding small, subtle nerdy details throughout our reception. Each table had a specific fandom couple associated with it and small decorations to match, such as Ron and Hermione from Harry Potter, Han and Leia from Star Wars, and Luke and Lorelai from Gilmore Girls. We also had a wall-hanging guest book shaped like the Millennium Falcon where guests could write their name on a heart and drop it in. The best, however, was the Groom’s cake, carved to be Chewbacca wearing the Sorting Hat.

Real Bride, Blaine, in Hayley Paige

12.01.18

Here for the Hayley Paige

Blaine always told herself she would not wear a white wedding gown. Since Hayley Paige offers a wide array of gowns in colors other than white, she knew she’d found her dream designer! When asked what led her to StarDust, Blaine said “I decided to shop at StarDust because it was one of the only wedding dress stores that sold Hayley Paige dresses, and I had been telling myself since I first got engaged that I WILL have a Hayley Paige wedding dress!” This gorgeous bride even wore  a Hayley Paige athleisurewear robe to get ready for her big day!

The One

She knew Chandon was her gown when she first saw it on Hayley’s Instagram- the day after she got engaged! Immediately, she began the hunt for her gown. Once she made it to StarDust, it was the very first gown she tried on. She was sold! “When I put it on, I immediately starting crying and smiling” said Blaine. “Marianne was my stylist on that wonderful day and she was everything I could’ve imagined in a stylist for the day I picked my wedding dress. She did nothing but make me feel like a queen. She focused only on how I felt, no one else! I loved that about her! She made me feel so beautiful and kept telling me how my dress was made for me!”

Rose Gold Vibes

Her inspiration for her wedding was her love for rose gold, burgundy, geometric terrariums, and succulents! Her engagement ring is Rose Gold, so she made it a priority to include rose gold in many aspects of her big day. As you can see, she nailed it!
